PURPOSE: A slag cooling device and method are provided to reduce the time for cooling molten slag by increasing the surface area per unit volume of the molten slag. CONSTITUTION: A slag cooling device(100) comprises a slag pan(10) with a receiving part(12) open at one side to receive molten slag, a shaft(20) which is protruded from both ends of the slag pan, a supporter(30) which is coupled to the shaft and allows the slag pan to rotate, and a driving unit(40) which is connected to the shaft and rotates the slag pan.
