PURPOSE: Resin particles are provided to not be separated from a light diffusion layer from an optical sheet, etc, thereby capable of preventing damages, etc generated during transportation or production of an optical sheet, and to improve production efficiency. CONSTITUTION: Resin particles are obtained by polymerizing a monomer composition comprising a vinyl-based monomer in an aqueous medium. The monomer composition comprises 0.1-100.0 parts by weight of a (meth)acrylic acid ester-based monomer containing a hydroxy group and/or a carboxy group in the molecule, and 100.0 parts by weight of other monomers except the (meth)acrylic acid ester-based monomer. The (meth)acrylic acid ester-based monomer is methacrylic acid hydroxyalkyl.
