FIELD: physics. ^ SUBSTANCE: disclosed is a method for frequency modulation and demodulation of high-frequency signals, which involves interaction of high-frequency and low-frequency signals with a frequency modulation and demodulation apparatus, made from a reactive four-terminal device, a nonlinear element, a low-pass filter, a separating capacitor and a low-frequency load and an apparatus for frequency modulation and demodulation of high-frequency signals, connected between a high-frequency signal source and the low-frequency load, which consists of a linear reactive four-terminal device, a nonlinear element, connected in modulation mode to a low-frequency control signal source, a low-pass filter and a separating capacitor, wherein between the output of the four-terminal device and the low-pass filter there is a high-frequency load connected in a cross circuit; the nonlinear element used is a three-terminal nonlinear element, which is connected between the high-frequency signal source and the input of the four-terminal device in a cross circuit on a scheme with one common electrode from three electrodes; the four-terminal device is in form of an overlapped T-connection of four reactive two-terminal devices with resistances x1n, x2n, x3n, x4n, respectively; the second, third and fourth two-terminal devices are formed from two parallel-connected series of loops with parameters L1k, C1k, L2k, C2k; parameters of these two-terminal devices are selected based on conditions for forming a quasilinear slope and the given shape of the amplitude-frequency characteristic in frequency demodulation mode and conditions for ensuring an amplitude balance and a phase balance in the given frequency variation range and the range of variation of the amplitude of the high-frequency control signal in frequency modulation mode. ^ EFFECT: generation of a frequency-modulated signal with frequency which varies according to the law of variation of the amplitude of the control signal. ^ 2 cl, 4 dwg |
