PURPOSE: A fabric for an air bag and a method for fabricating the same are provided to minimize shock and to safely protect passengers. CONSTITUTION: A polyester fabric contains polyester yarn with 300-700 denier. The polyester fabric has 0.8 or more of warp direction PTSRi^wa(PTSRI^wa= PTS3000^wa/PTS^wa), weft direction PTSRI^we(PTSRI^we= PTS3000^we/PTS^we), warp direction PSSRI^wa(PSSRI^wa= PSS_3000^wa/PSS^wa) index, and weft direction PSSRI^we(PSSRI^we= PSS_3000^we/PSS^we) index. The tensile strength of the fabric is 25kgf or more of PTS^wa, PTS^we, PTS_3000^wa, and PTS_3000^we. The toughness of the polyester fabric is more than 3.2 Kj/m^3.
