COMPOSITION FOR TREATMENT OF RENAL CELL CARCINOMA AND FUNCTIONAL FOOD COMPRISING EXTRACT OF ZINGIBERIS RHIZOMA

PURPOSE: A composition and a functional food containing Zingiberis Rhizoma extract are provided to suppress renal cancer cell proliferation and to induce apoptosis of renal cancer cells. CONSTITUTION: A composition for preventing and treating renal cancer contains Zingiberis Rhizoma ethanol extract as an active ingredient. The extract is prepared by extracting at 50 Deg. C. for 24 hours. The composition also contains pharmaceutically acceptable carriers or diluents. The renal cancer is kidney cell cancer. A functional food for preventing renal cancer contains the extract as an active ingredient, sitologically containing acceptable food additives. [Reference numerals] (AA) Relative cell survival rate
