Tool handling device for machine tools

The equipment has a tool magazine part (5) comprising a transfer point (7) for a machine tool. A tool changer is moved between the transfer point and an exchanging position, and includes a twin gripper. Support structures are designed as sliding parts (20, 31) to be moved on a base (10) and the tool changer is mounted on the support structures to be moved in a direction and arranged one above the other. A linear drive designed as a threaded spindle (15) is mounted on the respective sliding parts and driven by a drive motor that is mounted in the support structures.
