PURPOSE: A reciprocating compressor is provided to easily assemble a position control member in the gap between a stator cover and a back cover or between a mover and a piston. CONSTITUTION: A reciprocating compressor comprises a stator(31,32), a mover(33), a piston, springs(52,53), a frame, a stator cover(6), a back cover(7), and a position control member. The mover reciprocates to the stator. The piston is coupled to the mover and compresses refrigerants. The springs elastically support the piston. The frame is installed on one side of the stator. The stator cover is installed on the other side of the stator and is coupled to the frame. The back cover is coupled to the stator cover and supports one end of the springs. The position control member is formed between the stator cover and the back cover or between the mover and the piston.
