PURPOSE: A torque measuring system is provided to remarkably reduce costs and to easily measure shaft horsepower in a narrow space. CONSTITUTION: A torque measuring system comprises gear wheels(31,32), non-contact detectors(41), and a calculation unit(52). The gear wheels are installed by being spaced from each other on a shaft(30). The non-contact detectors are successively detects cogs of each wheel and outputs square wave signals. The calculation unit calculates torque and horsepower added on the shaft by using the phase difference of the square wave signals, thereby outputting.
