PURPOSE: A system and method for sensing a crosswalk pedestrian are provided to accurately sense moving objects without special equipment. CONSTITUTION: A body sensor is installed in a boundary stone. The body sensor senses pedestrians and vehicles on and near a crosswalk. A sensing controller delivers a lighting control signal to the body sensor. The body sensor includes a sensor, a lighting unit and a communication unit. The lighting unit controls the operation of illumination.
