Four- and file-layer billets from alternating titanium and steel layers are produced by explosion welding with preset ratio between thicknesses of said layers. Multilayer stack of two four-layer billets and four to six five-layer welded billets arranged there between is composed for explosion welding with aluminium layers of four-layer billets arranged inside said stack. Explosive charge height and welding gaps between welded billets in said stack are selected to comply with preset rates of their collision.
