MANUFACTURING METHOD OF HOLLOW AXLE SHAFT

PURPOSE: A method for manufacturing a hollow axle shaft is provided to improve the fuel ratio and reduce carbon emission of a vehicle and to reduce noises during the rotation of an axle shaft. CONSTITUTION: A method for manufacturing a hollow axle shaft, which comprises a flange part connected to wheels, a spline part connected to an axle, and a shaft part connecting the flange part and the spline part, includes the steps of: separately manufacturing a flange part(110) and other parts including a hollow shaft part(130) and coupling the flange part and the shaft part. The flange part is manufactured through forging and normalizing processes. The shaft part and the spline part are manufactured through a hot-rolled seamless pipe manufacturing process, a cold drawing process, and a shaft forming process.
