PURPOSE: A system and method for automatically switching generator speed are provided to prevent damage to a generator by automatically switching from a low speed mode to a high speed mode after preheating the generator during predetermined time. CONSTITUTION: A system for automatically switching generator speed comprises a control part(100), a mechanical governor(200), and a connection line(300) connecting the control part and the mechanical governor. The control part controls a throttle lever(210) of the mechanical governor through the connection line. The control part has a solenoid control part(110), a solenoid(120), and a fixture(130). The solenoid control part controls the operation of the solenoid. The solenoid controls the throttle lever. The fixture fixes the solenoid.
