A method and equipment for laser welding of a breather pipe (5) to a main pipe (5) of a filler neck for the tank of a vehicle, in which a zero-offset focusing head (13) is moved so as to focus a laser beam (L) along a closed welding line (40) extending along an area of joining between a seat (6) carried by the main pipe and one end (7) of the breather pipe (5) engaging said seat (6).
