PURPOSE: A method for controlling the flatness of a strip and a control system for the same are provided to determine an error in adjusted flatness by minimizing the difference between positions of actuators. CONSTITUTION: A method for controlling the flatness of a strip comprises the steps of: receiving flatness measurement data applied to the flatness of a strip(S1), determining a flatness error from the difference between a reference flatness and the flatness measurement data(S2), determining an adjusted flatness error based on weight and flatness errors on the position combination of actuators providing flatness effect less than a threshold value(S3), and controlling the actuators using the adjusted flatness error, thereby controlling the flatness of the strip(S4).
