<p>PURPOSE: A device for controlling the illumination of a light emitting device is provided to simplify a circuit by implementing a phase width detecting unit and a phase signal detecting unit as one circuit. CONSTITUTION: A second rectifier(150) rectifies a phase control signal. A phase width detecting unit(110) generates an illumination control signal by detecting a phase width. A driving unit(130) generates a driving current for a light emitting device(170) by receiving an illumination control signal. A phase signal detecting unit(120) generates an on and off signal by receiving the rectified phase control signal. A smoothing unit(160) smoothes the rectified main power and outputs the smoothed power to a driving unit.
