A display control apparatus and method is disclosed wherein the amount of use of a memory to be used to store an image to be displayed can be reduced. The display control apparatus has an execution section, a first retaining section, an image processing section, a second retaining section and reflect section. The image processing section and the first and second retaining sections being controlled with an application program interface provided by the middleware and called by the application program.
