PURPOSE: A charging system for an electric vehicle is provided to stably supply inexpensive power by dealing with power demands in real time. CONSTITUTION: A power supply unit comprises a power network(110) supplying power and a first management server controlling the power network. A charge unit(130) includes a battery charger which charges an electric vehicle and the second management server which communicates with the first management server by converting and transforming the power supplied from the power network. The power network produces or supplies the power. One or more electricity operators include self power transmission, transformation, and distribution facilities. The power network supports a smart grid. The charge unit further includes a smart meter(131) measuring billing related information and a power amount provided through the power network.
