PURPOSE: A position recognizing apparatus and method are provided to map location of a light source on a light emitting body without emission of set discrimination light in a specific light emitting body. CONSTITUTION: A communications unit outputs an indication signal for light emission among a plurality of light emitters having related identifying information. A photographing unit takes a photograph of an imaging region in which the plurality of light emitters is arranged and obtains a space image. A controller calculates the location of the plurality of light emitters using the space image. The controller comprises a light source detecting block(115) and a coordinate calculating block. The light source detecting block analyzes the space image and detects indication light of the plurality of light emitters. The coordinate calculating block calculates a space coordinate corresponding to the detected light source. A coordinate linkage block maps the space coordinate on identifying information of the plurality of light emitters.
