PURPOSE: An electrolyte for a lithium secondary battery is provided to provide a lithium secondary battery capable of having excellent flame retardancy while maintaining other battery properties because of the electrolyte has excellent flame retardancy. CONSTITUTION: An electrolyte for a lithium secondary battery comprises a non-aqueous organic solvent, lithium salt, and a compound in chemical formula 1. In chemical formula 1, R1 and R2 each are a hydrogen, a C1-C5 alkyl group or a fluorinated C1-C5 alkyl group; and at least one of R1 and R2 is not a hydrogen. The comprised amount of the compound represented by chemical formula 1 is 0.1-10 weight%. The non-aqueous organic solvent additionally comprises a carbonated-based, ester-based, ether-based, ketone-based, alcohol-based, or aprotic solvent. The concentration of the lithium salt is 0.1-2.0 M. |
