PURPOSE: A method for preparing an electrode active material for a battery is provided to enhance the efficiency of a manufacturing process of an electrode active material, to suppress the grain growth of the electrode active material by a heat treatment process. CONSTITUTION: A method for preparing an electrode active material for a battery comprises the steps of: mixing a hydroxide precursor and a phosphate-based compound to provide metal excluding lithium to the electrode active material; adding a metal supply material to the mixture and coating the surface of the hydroxide precursor with a metal-phosphate based compound; and mixing the coated material with a lithium compound and heat-treating the mixture. |
