PURPOSE: A control device of a continuously variable automatic transmission is provided to control fluid pressure provided to a variator by establishing limiter of the amount of change according to the state of a torque converter. CONSTITUTION: A primary pulley(2) changes a groove width by fluid pressure. A secondary pulley(3) changes the groove width by the fluid pressure. A power transmission member is wound around the primary pulley and the second pulley. A torque converter(6) is arranged between a driving source and a variator(1). A rotary speed detection member detects rotation speed of a rotator located in the driving wheel side. A rotation speed change amount calculating member calculates the change amount of rotation speed per unit time.
