PURPOSE: A powerless self-light emitting device and a nuclear display device are provided to reduce power consumption by exciting a light emitting element with beta or alpha rays to emit light. CONSTITUTION: One or more radioactive isotopes(11) are made of materials to emit alpha or beta rays. One or more fluorescent substances(12) are made of materials to convert radioactive energy into light energy. A shielding unit(13) is made of materials which shield radiation and transmit light, and surrounds the radioactive isotopes and the fluorescent substances. The radioactive isotopes and the fluorescent materials are made of nano- or micro-sized powder. The surface of the shielding unit is coated with a compound powder in which the powders are mixed.
