PURPOSE: A light emitting device and a manufacturing method thereof are provided to suppress a potential drop due to resistance of an upper electrode by forming an auxiliary wiring supporting the conductivity of the upper electrode. CONSTITUTION: A main wiring(102a) and a main wiring(102b) are formed on a substrate(101). A lens array(125) and a lens array(127) are formed on a counter substrate(121). A sealing material(113) seals the substrate and the counter substrate. The surface of the counter substrate opposite to the substrate has an auxiliary wiring(123). The auxiliary wiring and an upper electrode(107) are electrically connected using a connection body(115).
