PURPOSE: A method for preparing glucose from mannose using novel unidirectional xylose isomerase is provided to convert mannose into glucose. CONSTITUTION: A unidirectional xylose isomerase contains an amino acid of sequence number 1. A nucleic acid molecule has a nucleotide sequence encoding the isomerase. A vector contains the nucleic acid molecule. A transformant containing the vector is E.coli. A method for preparing D-glucose from D-mannose comprises a step of contacting D-mannose, D-lyxose ketol-isomerase and xylose isomerase. |
