PURPOSE: An apparatus for opening and shutting a manhole for escaping a fire place in a multistory building is provided to enable a user to simultaneously open and close upper and lower covers. CONSTITUTION: An apparatus for opening and shutting a manhole for escaping a fire place in a multistory building comprises an upper frame(3), a lower frame(4), an upper cover(6), and a lower cover(7). The upper frame is installed in the upper entrance of a manhole. The lower frame is installed in the lower exit of the upper and lower manholes. The upper cover opens the entrance of the manhole. The lower cover is folded by being pivoted around a central axis.
