PURPOSE: A braking apparatus of a vehicle and a control method thereof are provided to detect the faults in a hydraulic control unit based on the pressure of a master cylinder and a pedal stroke and apply pressure to each wheel cylinder when the hydraulic control unit is in trouble. CONSTITUTION: A braking control method of a vehicle is composed as follows. The operation state of a brake pedal during driving is detected. When the brake pressed, a pedal stroke is measured. The pressure of a master cylinder installed in a vehicle is sensed. The pedal stroke and the pressure of the master cylinder are used for detecting faults in a braking apparatus. When a hydraulic control unit is in trouble, the wheel cylinder of a vehicle receives hydraulic force.
