PURPOSE: A fraction stir welding apparatus and a fraction stir welding method for titanium using the same are provided to prevent the oxidation of welded portions of base materials by providing protective gas inside a case. CONSTITUTION: A fraction stir welding apparatus for preventing the oxidation of a base material comprises a spindle which rotates at high speed, a shoulder part(11) which is protruded outward at the bottom of the spindle, a pin(12) which is installed at the end of the shoulder part and inserted in the boundary of two or more base materials to bind the base materials, and a case(20) which surrounds the exterior of the spindle and emits protective gas therein to prevent the oxidation of welded portions.
