TOGGLE LINK DECK TO BUILDING CONNECTOR

The invention is a device for connecting an exterior deck structure to a contiguous building via a bore-hole through the deck ledger and building header. The device has a pair of tension members comprising interconnected tensile links at least one link being rigid, the interconnecting portions being encapsulated in a generally cylindrical plastic plug to maintain 1 to 5 mm separation between the interconnected links and constitute a thermal barrier. A pivoting toggle pin on the exposed portion of the rigid link is adapted to pivot between a first position aligned with the axis of the link and a second position transfers to the axis of the link. The second link may be rigid or flexible, has a sealing member adapted to slid thereon to seal the bore-hole. The plastic plug may have an extending lip to support the pivot pin in axially alignment. The second link is adapted to be fastened securely to a joist or other appropriate member of the deck.
