<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a scroll fluid machine that can further enhance the sealing property of a compression chamber by suppressing leakage of a working fluid. <P>SOLUTION: In the scroll fluid machine, a stepped part 321 of a lap 32 has one plane 326 that joins the outer peripheral surface 324 and the inner peripheral surface 325 of the lap 32 to each other. The stepped part 321 of the lap 32 has each edge A, B at the junction location between the outer peripheral surface 324 and the plane 326 and at the junction location between the inner peripheral surface 325 and the plane 326 respectively.
