<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of manufacturing a fluorescent substance for an inorganic EL in which Eu addition BaAl<SB POS="POST">2</SB>O<SB POS="POST">4</SB>is heat-treated in an inert gas including carbon disulfide to be performed with reduction sulfuration, thereby a fluorescent substance of Eu addition bariumthioaluminate sulfide (BaAl<SB POS="POST">2</SB>S<SB POS="POST">4</SB>) of a high fluorescent brightness is manufactured without using poisonous hydrogen sulfide. <P>SOLUTION: The method of manufacturing a rare earth addition sulfide fluorescent substance shown by the general formula [A<SB POS="POST">x</SB>Al<SB POS="POST">y</SB>S<SB POS="POST">z</SB>:RE], wherein A is an alkaline earth metal element, and a rare earth element is RE, includes: a first process in which a rare earth addition oxide of the general formula [A<SB POS="POST">x</SB>Al<SB POS="POST">y</SB>O<SB POS="POST">z</SB>:RE] in which a rare earth element RE is uniformly dispersed is synthesized; and a second process in which the rare earth addition oxide of the general formula [A<SB POS="POST">x</SB>Al<SB POS="POST">y</SB>O<SB POS="POST">z</SB>:RE] is heat-treated under the flow of an inert gas including carbon disulfide to be performed with reduction sulfuration by the condition in which the mole number of carbon disulfide flowed at least 900°C is at least seven times and at most 30 times of the mole number of an oxygen content of the oxide obtained at the first process. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
