<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polyvinyl alcohol emulsion type polychloroprene latex suitable for water-based adhesives excellent in water resistance and needing high water-resistant adhesive forces, to provide a production method therefore, and to provide a water-based adhesive. <P>SOLUTION: The polychloroprene latex is obtained by emulsion-polymerizing chloroprene alone or chloroprene and one or more other monomers in the presence of polyvinyl alcohol having carbon-carbon double bonds in the molecule, preferably polyvinyl alcohol having carbon-carbon double bonds and carbonyl groups in the molecule. Therein, the polyvinyl alcohol has, for example, a saponification degree of 65-95 mol%, an absorbance of 0.1-3.0 at 20°C at a wavelength of 280 nm in an aqueous solution or a water-methanol mixture solution of 0.2 mass%, and a viscosity of 3-10 mPa s measured by a method defined in JIS K 6726. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
