An inverter for use in an electric vehicle includes a plurality of elements to convert direct current power to alternating current power, first and second heat sinks to absorb heat within the inverter, the first heat sink including a first cooling fluid passage therein to allow cooling fluid to pass through and exchange heat with the first heat sink, and the second heat sink including a second cooling fluid passage therein to allow cooling fluid to pass through and exchange heat with the second heat sink, wherein the first heat sink is disposed to exchange heat with at least one element of the inverter, and the second heat sink is disposed to exchange heat with the first heat sink. With the configuration, it may be possible to cool the components as well as collecting thermal energy to be used in heating.
