A therapeutic agent for diseases associated with the cholinergic properties of the central nervous system (CNS) and/or the peripheral nervous system (PNS), diseases associated with the contraction of smooth muscles, endocrine diseases, diseases associated with nerve degeneration and the like, which comprises a compound represented by formula (I) [wherein A represents CR1D or a nitrogen atom; X-Y-Z represents N-CO-NR4AR5 or the like; R1A, R1B, R1C and R1D may be the same as or different from one another and independently represent a C1-6 alkyl group which may be substituted, or the like; R2 represents a hydrogen atom or the like; R4A, R4B, R5 and R7 may be the same as or different from one another and independently represent a C3-10 cycloalkyl group which may be substituted, or the like; R6, R8 and R9 may be the same as or different from one another and independently represent a hydrogen atom or the like; R10 to R17 may be the same as or different from one another and independently represent a hydrogen atom or the like; and n represents 1 or 2] or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof and has a potent a7 nicotinic acetylcholine receptor (a7 nAChR) modulating activity.
