The probe i.e. telescopic probe (1), has a handle (3) arranged at an end of a length-variable probe body (2) e.g. telescopic rod, and a sensor element (4) arranged at another end of the body to produce an electrical sensor signal dependent on measured physical property. A cable (6) transmits the sensor signal from the sensor element to an interface (5). The cable forms a loop when the probe body is retracted, where the loop is outwardly guided by an opening in the handle. A contact surface (51) is arranged in or at the handle for manufacturing an electric contact with a transmission unit. The interface comprises mechanical and electrical interfaces.
