<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a barbed suture for connecting tissue, and a thread attached needle combined with a surgical needle with a barbed suture. <P>SOLUTION: The suture 1 includes an elongated body and a plurality of barbs 7, 9 projecting from the body. Each barb is adapted for enabling the barbed suture to resist movement in the opposite direction from that of the barb. The barbs 7, 9 are disposed on the body in a disposition selected from a staggered disposition, a twist cut multiple spiral disposition, an overlapping disposition, or a random disposition. In addition, the barbs 7, 9 can have a certain spirality angle α, a barb cut angle θ, a barb cut depth, a barb cut length, a barb cut distance, a corrugated barb underside, an arcuate barb underside, and variable barb sizes. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
