<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display device that displays a video image such as a TV program on a slave screen thereof, the TV program capable of being switched by a user, while a menu screen is displayed. <P>SOLUTION: A display device comprises: a switching part that switches a content signal received according to a switching operation to change contents displayed; a menu screen display part that displays a menu screen showing a list of operation items on a display; and a display control part that controls a display format in the display. The display control part reduces the video image size and establishes a first display format that displays the reduced image in a predetermined position as a slave image when the video image and the menu screen are to be displayed at the same time on the display.
