<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image pickup apparatus that can generate a viewpoint image in a virtual viewpoint differing from an actual viewpoint with low-cost and a simple structure. <P>SOLUTION: An image pickup apparatus 1 comprises an imaging lens 11, a lens array 12, an image sensor 13 and an image processor 14. The image pickup apparatus generates, based on image data D0 obtained using the imaging lens 11, the lens array 12 and the image sensor 13, a plurality of viewpoint images taken, and synthesizes two or more viewpoint images of them. In such synthesis, the image pickup apparatus weights the two or more viewpoint images taken, depending on the positional relationship of their image viewpoints with a virtual viewpoint, such that it generates a virtual viewpoint image without executing a complex arithmetic processing requiring CPU and GPU having high processing capability. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
