<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and an apparatus for manufacturing a beam in an embodiment where the heat input used in manufacturing the beam is controlled and monitored and, thus, the manufacturing tolerances are preferable. <P>SOLUTION: A beam comprises at least three web plates 1-2, 1-4, 1-6 that are connected to a bottom flange 1-10 and a top flange 1-12.
