GRAVITATIONAL BENDING OF GLASS ELEMENTS ON A PLURALITY OF SUPPORTS

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a process and a device for gravitationally bending a glass element on at least two supports.

SOLUTION: The method for working for warping glass includes: a first step in which the glass is sagged and warped by gravity on the first supports SP1, SI and the first central sagging is caused; a second step in which the warping operation sagging by gravity is continued on the second supports SP2 and the second center sagging more remarkable than the first sagging is obtained till the whole periphery of the glass comes into contact with the second supports SP2 wherein the temperature of the glass is such a temperature in which the center part of the glass is continued to sag after the whole periphery comes into contact with the supports; a third step in which warping is continued by the sagging by gravity and the third sagging more remarkable than in the second step is caused, wherein the periphery still contacts with the second supports SP2; and the fourth step in which the sagging of the glass is stopped by cooling and a predetermined last shape is provided.
