680,194. Carriers for cameras. PAILLARD SOC. ANON. April 19, 1951 [June 5, 1950], No. 9151/51. Class 98 (i). A device for removably securing a looped carrying strap to a photographic camera having a screw-threaded bore in which a tripod may be secured, comprises a screw-threaded member for engagement with the camera bore and a ring connected to the strap and pivoted about the screw-threaded member, and means are provided to prevent rotation of the ring relatively to the member so that the ring may be used as a spanner for screwing or unscrewing said member into or out of the camera bore. The device shown comprises a looped carrying strap 9 attached to a sleeve 8 pivoted to a split ring 7, the ends 6 of which pass through diametrically opposite holes in a sleeve 5 and engage an annular groove 3 in a member 1 having a threaded portion 2 for engaging a bore in a photographic camera. The member 1 is also provided with diametrically-opposite seatings 4 which open into the groove 3 and into which the ends 6 of the split-ring may be moved. When engaged therewith, the ring may thus be used as a spanner to screw, or unscrew the portion 2 into or out of the camera bore. In another form, the ends 6 of the split-ring may be fixed to the sleeve 5 and the latter may have internal projections for engagement with the groove 3 and seatings 4. A spring may be provided between the part 10 of the sleeve and the member 1, this spring tending to maintain the ends 6 of the split-ring or the projection on the sleeve in the groove 3.
|
