<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device for correcting thermal displacement, which can correct thermal displacement of a workpiece itself more accurately, and to provide a method for correcting thermal displacement. <P>SOLUTION: The device for correcting thermal displacement preliminarily measures thermal displacement directions θ2-θ7 of prescribed points P2-P7 of the workpiece W relative to a reference point P1 of the workpiece W when actually changing a temperature of the workpiece W, and then stores the measured thermal displacement directions θ2-θ7 in a database 32. The device for correcting thermal displacement calculates thermal displacement correcting positions Ob2-Ob7 of the prescribed points P2-P7 of the workpiece W in processing, based on the thermal displacement directions θ2-θ7 of the prescribed points P2-P7 of the workpiece W that are stored in the database 32, the temperature Tw of the workpiece W, and a linear expansion coefficient of the workpiece W.
