PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide human tumor-specific binding proteins, in particular, antibodies or antibody fragments specific for antigens or molecules on cancer cells.

SOLUTION: The invention provides an isolated light chain complementarity determining region 1 comprising a specific amino acid sequence or a variant thereof. An immunoconjugate comprising the tumor-specific antibody comprising the region and the tumor-specific antibody attached to a toxin or label can specifically bind to a specific antigen and is used for a medicament for treating or preventing cancer. The tumor-specific antibody is used for diagnosing cancer in mammals.
