<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a CT image processing device and a CT image processing method, allowing acquisition of a strong synchronization signal by use of projection data, allowing simple synchronization processing, and allowing reduction of a burden on an operator. <P>SOLUTION: The CT image processing device 5 processing the projection data in synchronization with a periodic motion of a portion of a subject includes an ROI calculation unit 36 calculating specific information on an ROI for synchronization about each photographic angle so as to track the target portion of the subject. Thereby, the strong synchronization signal is obtained, a characteristic amount wherein a breathing beat or a heartbeat sufficiently appears can be measured, and the simple synchronization processing becomes possible by use of the projection data. A dedicated device for obtaining the heartbeat or the breathing beat such as an ECG or a respiration measuring instrument is not required, and a heartbeat signal and a breathing beat signal can be obtained from an ROI signal of the projection data.
