Provided are a knitted fabric and an article of clothing wherein, although different sections are given different degrees of stretch, there are no obvious lines between sections with different degrees of stretch. Said knitted fabric, which has a first knitted-fabric region (101) and a second knitted-fabric region (102A), is characterized in that: the first and second knitted-fabric regions (101 and 102A) have different degrees of stretch; buffer regions (10A and 10B) are provided in the first knitted-fabric region (101) and/or the second knitted-fabric region (102A) so as to contact both the first and second knitted-fabric regions (101 and 102A); the degree of stretch of each buffer region (10A and 10B) is set so as to progressively approach that of the first knitted-fabric region (101) and/or the second knitted-fabric region (102A) as the distance therefrom decreases; and there are no boundary lines between the first and second knitted-fabric regions (101 and 102A) that approach being parallel to the transverse direction (L1) of the knitted fabric.
