In order to equalize the temperature of the center section to outer section of a desulfurization agent layer (2) inside the cylindrical container (1) of a desulfurizer, a heater (3) is positioned in the center section of the desulfurization agent layer (2), and heat transfer fins (10) are provided that thermally connect to the heater (3) and extend in a direction that connects the center section and the outer section of the desulfurization agent layer (2). The heat transfer fins (10) have a larger opening than does the desulfurization agent for filling. The heater used is an external heater mounted to the outer wall of the container (1), and transferring heat from the outer-section-side to the center-section-side via the heat transfer fins is also possible.
