Provided is an absorbent article for pets that can easily be attached at the correct position when being wrapped around the waist of a pet. This absorbent article (1) for pets is equipped with: a liquid-permeable front surface layer (2); a liquid-impermeable back surface layer (3); and an absorbent body (4) disposed between the front surface layer (2) and the back surface layer (3). The absorbent article (1) is formed in a rectangular shape having an opposing first end portion (11) and second end portion (12), and a pair of opposing side portions that are perpendicular to the first end portion (11) and second end portion (12). When the absorbent article (1) is wrapped around the waist of a pet, the first end portion (11) is arranged on the body of the pet, and the second end portion (12) is detachably attached to the outer surface of the first end portion (11). The absorbent article (1) is further equipped with elastic members (61, 62) arranged in a stretched state along the longitudinal direction of the absorbent article (1). A high-rigidity portion having more rigidity than the second end portion (12) is formed on the first end portion (11).
