Disclosed are an access point and a terminal access method, for solving the technical problem that no LTE wireless signal can be provided to an LTE end user in a home environment if fixed network operators do not redeploy network elements such as MME, SAE GW and HSS, etc. The AP provided in the present invention comprises an eNodeB module, an MME module, and an SAE GW module. A simplified wireless access system can be implemented on the basis of the AP, in which the operators need not re-establish network elements such as MME/SAE GW/HSS, etc. The access method provided on the basis of the AP in the present invention can also provide LTE service to the user. At the same time, in home mode, the AP can directly replace the wireless router in existing wireless local area networks (WLAN), and economize operator IP addresses.
