PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a treatment liquid for ink-jet recording, in which all the performances of the optical density (OD value) of recorded matter, marker resistance and preservation stability are excellent.

SOLUTION: The treatment liquid used for ink-jet recording includes: basic amino acid; and water; wherein the blending amount of the basic amino acid is not less than 1 wt.% to the total amount of the treatment liquid. The basic amino acid may include the derivatives, tautomers or stereoisomers of the basic amino acid, or their salts.
