PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus that can improve efficiency of printing work.

SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus includes: a storage unit for storing frequency equivalent to payment that is made in advance; an image forming unit for forming an image to a recording medium based on printing information that is input from outside; a subtraction unit for subtracting a frequency corresponding to an execution embodiment of image formation that is executed by the image forming unit from the frequency stored in the storage unit; a control unit for controlling the image formation by the image forming unit to be permitted when a subtraction result by the subtraction unit is a negative number; and a charging unit for charging the amount of money corresponding to a negative frequency.
