<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a user-friendly image forming apparatus that can suppress a temperature rise of an LED array head with a simple configuration and that facilitates replacement of consumables without being increased in the cost and size of the apparatus. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus 50 includes: a photoreceptor 4 that is disposed in the apparatus body 1; the LED array head 8 that is arranged near the photoreceptor 4 and exposes light to a surface of the photoreceptor 4; and a holding unit 48 that holds the LED array head 8 with respect to the photoreceptor 4 at a predetermined position. The image forming apparatus includes a discharge unit 49 for discharging heat generated from the LED array head 8.
